As another reviewer has indicated, the pan lid is too low (not enough height) and too tight (fitting very close to the edges of the pan) to make this a cupcakes carrier, but it will be perfect for muffins.The lid fits tightly on the pan with easy snap-on and snap-off levers. It can also be used with other standard-sized pans. However, nowadays, muffin/cupcake pans have varied designs and most standalone pans would have some kind of handles, so it's not easy to find an equivalent pan. Besides, you don't need more than one pan if you only have one lid. ;-)Aesthetic-wise, I didn't like to carry cupcake/muffin in the pan they were baked in. It's not a nice presentation, and it requires you to dip your fingers in to fish them out. If you have any kind of icing at all, you might squish it. And you can't just put the whole pan out to 'serve', or at least wouldn't.The baking pan itself is mediocre. It is non-stick, but thin, not hefty or smooth like some better pans. But it's adequate for baking cupcakes / muffins, especially you would have the cupcake liners anyway.I ended up buying something else for carrying cupcakes.

Unfortunately this carrier is not high enough for cupcakes. When you put the plastic lid on (which by the way arrived cracked at my house) it will be in contact with the cupcakes. Also, it is too difficult to reach the cupcakes' liner in order to get them out of the carrier.I would only recommend this pan for transporting muffins or cupcakes without frosting.I noticed other reviewers didn't have the same issues that I did. Perhaps they made very small cupcakes or maybe my carrier came defective. I don't know but I highly doubt it.
