Great pan and storage container in 1!
Chris S.

Do you ever make a wonderful batch of cupcakes or muffins and then wonder how to store them until your family or guests get to enjoy them? Me, too, but no more. I hate wrapping things with plastic wrap. Trying to stack lovely baked goods into a bulky, mismatched container in a desperate attempt to protect them bothers me even more. This is the solution: a muffin pan with its own cover. Just bake, cool, and then cover to store. You can then remove muffins or cupcakes one at a time, leaving the remainder protected until the next time. Or take the whole pan to a picnic or potluck, or to share with your colleagues at work. This lid is interchangeable with the lids on two other, highly useful Nordic Ware products: the Nordic Ware 9-by-13-Inch Cake Pan with Storage Lid, which is also about the size of a lasagna pan, and the Nordic Ware Baker's Quarter 9x12 Sheet Jelly Roll Pan with Storage Lid, which is basically a small cookie sheet with a lid. These two are available as a combo if you like, with a single shared lid: Nordic Ware 3 Piece Baker's Quarter Sheet and Cake Pan Combo Pack with Lid.Note: it's best to handwash these pans, as either harsh detergent or hard water will stain them in most dishwashers, but they clean up very easily with soap and a dish brush and virtually no scrubbing. ENJOY!By the way: there are other opportunities here! Try thinking creatively with the sheet pans with lid, both the quarter size listed above that has a lid also used for the cupcake/muffin and lasagna/cake pans, and the twice-as-big Nordic Ware Baker's Half Sheet with Storage Lid 13 Inch by 18 Inch (which is available together with the quarter size in the Nordic Ware 4 Piece Bakers Half and Quarter Sheet Combo Pack with Lids, each with its own lid, of course, since they're different sizes). These so-called sheet pans, basically cookie pans with lids, are for much more than cookies. I'm reviewing them here because Amazon limits reviews to one per product family, so please bear with me.The smaller one exactly fits the deli pack of sliced blocks of different types of cheeses that are sold in many grocery stores near us. Line the small cookie sheet with waxed paper, aluminum foil or something pretty like kale or spinach leaves, rip the plastic off the nicely laid-out deli package, slap the ready-to-serve cheese slices onto the cookie sheet, and put the cover on to store in the fridge until party time, transport to a picnic, or whatever. Presto: in about 15 seconds, you have a pretty display ready for the crackers of your choice. Would also work very well with deli meats, cooked shrimp, crudites, etc. None of these uses require cooking in the pan --you can just use it as a storage container. But of course you can cook in these pans. I love roasting vegetables in the sheet pans (use the cake pan, though, if the vegetables are especially tall when laid on their side) and then refrigerating them with the lid on so that the vegetables can be added to various dishes all week long. The larger one, in addition to many other uses, makes an incredibly impressive cheese platter. Recently we lined the so-called "half sheet" (a misleading name -- it's actually VERY large!) with kale, placed an entire round of brie and a half-round of bleu cheese into the top two quadrants of the pan, fit two rounds of soft garlicky cheese (Alouette or similar) towards the middle below the top two large items, and then laid small clusters of green grapes with 3-10 grapes each, here and there, around the whole pan. Snuck 3 pretty, small cheese knives, one for each type of cheese, in among the grape clusters, and then put the lid on. Paired it with an identical pan filled with nicely laid out crackers from an "entertainment" box purchased at our local grocery store containing separate plastic-wrapped sleeves of Carr's water crackers, ritz-type crackers and 3 or 4 other types, all perfect for cheese, and again all protected in their nice layout on the cookie sheet by its lid. Dumped the 2 pans into the trunk of the car and drove to a barbecue where we had been asked to bring cheese. Both trays looked beautiful under their see-through lids, I have to admit. We also brought the smaller size tray with the pre-arranged deli-sliced blocks of different types of hard cheese as described above. When we opened the trunk and our hosts saw the trays, their eyes nearly bugged out and they literally gasped with delight. They asked what caterer we'd bought the platters from and hardly believed it when we said we'd put it all together ourselves. They continued to rave about our cheese platters for weeks afterward. Again easy, simple, almost no work -- and exceptionally convenient to transport. The large rounds of brie and bleu cheese just barely fit under the pan's cover, which, when you think about it, is impressive, since they call these pans "sheet pans" (think cookie sheet or jelly roll pan -- usually not very tall, right? but in this case, a lot more space under the cover than you'd expect).I also use either covered sheet pan to store mini-cupcakes or mini-muffins (works for cupcakes as long as they aren't mounded up too much with frosting or decorations), as well as to serve cookies (I wash the pans while the cookies are cooling and than transfer them back to the pan for storage). And the so called cake pan (or lasagna pan, as I think of it), is useful not only for casseroles or other baked dishes but to carry large volumes of side dishes to picnics or potlucks, whether or not they were originally cooked in the pan. There's also a Nordic Ware 9 Inch Square Cake Pan with Lid, which I think of as a brownie pan and use not just for brownies but for anything else whenever a slightly smaller version of the cake/lasagna pan is needed.Be inventive! :) And enjoy the convenient storage and transport, with these lids sized exactly right for all these incredibly useful pan types.

Excellent Pan for Baking and Carrying Your Cupcakes and Muffins...

Nordic Ware has produced an excellent product in its Muffin Pan with Lid. It certainly meets both my baking needs and my need to transport baked goods that are covered. This muffin pan is not coated with a nonstick product, something I prefer. Traditional baking pans, without a nonstick surface, are difficult to find in reasonably priced baking pans - Nordic Ware has met this need. I also prefer that items in which I cook be made in the USA - another big plus for these pans. This pan is a nice, medium weight product. Unlike many baking pans on the market today, it does not require one to be a weight-lifter to move it whether empty or when containing a food product. I like that the pan is for standard size and not for jumbo muffins or muffin tops only.I have found cupcakes and muffins bake evenly in this pan and in the time shown on recipes I use. I do line my muffin cups with either silicone or paper baking cups, so I have had no issues with this pan being made of aluminum. I lightly spray the top of the pan with a nonstick spray so that I do not have any difficulty in with "muffin-top" overflow sticking to the pan. Further, the storage lid is a big plus as it will not fall onto the baked goods as plastic wrap or foil may do. I have had no baked goods last long enough for me to be able to comment on how long the lid may help keep items fresh.Because I do not run cold water in this pan when it is hot, I have not had any issues with the pan warping. If you are looking for good quality, medium-weight, made-in-the USA pans, you will definitely want to consider Nordic Ware Muffin Pans with Lids. I am pleased with them and think you will be also.

Heavy pan with smooth edges and no
Penmouse

This morning I used this muffin pan to bake up a batch of cheese muffins. The muffins baked up evenly and with golden brown muffin tops.Things that I really love about this pan:*Heavy-duty aluminum pan*Individual muffin cups have a smooth edge with no "lip" surrounding the cup. This makes clean-up easier as the batter or crumbs do not get caught in the muffin cup edging.*Cover. The cover is made of sturdy plastic and snaps on the pan to help keep the muffins fresh. My only wish:I wish the muffin cup had a hole drilled into the top so you could hang the pan up. Older muffin pans used to include this feature.Highly recommend.
