Original February 2012I finally got to use my baking mat. It made cleanup very easy. It is a little smaller than my cookie sheet but I thill think it is about the right size. I used my pizza cutter right on top of it without a problem. (They probably don't recommend that but I didn't cut the mat this time.)I have covered baking surfaces with foil before, it just makes the bottom more crisp. This kept the bottom from getting too crisp and kept my cooking surface clean.I will order another one and I do recommend them.November 2012 Update;I am still using my baking mat and I am just as happy as I was when I first used it. The clean up is so easy. It has been great for cookies and I am eager to put it to use this holiday season. They clean up very easy. I still wish they made one to fit my large airbake pan because I cannot use my entire pan with the smaller mat. Still I really like this product.

I was having a problem with my oven. It is an old (antique?) oven and it fits this home well, but does burn cookies or bakes the bottoms too much and the same can be said for muffins, biscuits, and Pumpkin Date Nut Bread and other baked items. Using these silicone baking sheets helps to eliminate the over baking of the bottoms of these baked goods, which saves my "creations." I highly recommend them to all bakers!

From all of the reviews I read about silicone baking mats, I expected this to quickly become something that I would use regularly, but I honestly don't care for it.For one thing, it is much more difficult to wash than I would have guessed. This mat has an odd texture to it. If anything gets onto that textured part, it is extremely difficult to scrub everything out of the tiny creases, even after soaking in hot, soapy water. The product is very thin and doesn't like to hold still while scrubbing.Also, every time I bake with it, it makes my kitchen smell odd, and every time I have used it, I have checked to make sure it wasn't melting or something. I've never used it for temperatures higher than 400 degrees, and even at 350, my whole kitchen just smells like something odd is burning.I wish I knew if all silicone mats are the same way, or if it's just this brand. I don't have the problem with the smell when I use my silicone bakeware, just this mat.
